How to flash Nokia phone with Phoenix Service Software

I remember once, screwed up my Nokia N82 while trying to hack/jailbreak it. The smarthphone cannot install any sis/sisx Symbian applications anymore. Even after revert attempts, it is still remained the same. In the end, I performed the last resort, flashing the phone. Only then I have my phone working as normal.

I think this is very useful if a Nokia phone goes terribly wrong, so I am going to show you how to flash it. But before we move on, please be extreme caution on phone flashing as it could bricked the phone if anything goes wrong. Always consider phone flashing as a last resort.

Notes

  • This procedure is compatible with all BB5 Nokia phones.
  • Always use the appropriate firmware for phone flashing.

What you need:

USB data cable, Phoenix Service Software, and Nokia firmware.

Nokia phone USB flashing

  4. Do not connect the phone to computer with USB cable first and remove the phone battery.
  5. Start Phoenix, click File, and then Open Product.

                  10. Check Dead phone USB flashing and click on Refurbish button.
                  11. Read and understand the pop-up windows instructions and click OK.

                  12. Connect the phone to computer with USB data cable and insert the battery. Firmware Update process will start.
                  13. When the Flashing is done, Firmware updating succeeded window will appear.

                    14. Click OK and disconnect the phone.
                    15. Done. Congratulations!

Install Other Languages/Change Product Code On Nokia Using NSS Pro

Nokia Software Updater install the right language pack of the firmware accordingly to the product code, in case you haven't know it works. So as long as you know what are the product codes for your Nokia handset, you can choose the firmware in your preferred languages to install.

Why use NSS pro? It supports newer Nokia phone's connectivity drives and fewer steps to write product code compared to older Nemesis Service Suite (NSS). Furthermore, NSS has been discontinued. So NSS is unable to scan new Nokia phones.

How to download Nokia firmware using NaviFirm+

NAVIFIRM is an open source software developed by EPICBIZNUS for finding Nokia product code and download the right firmware for your phone. It works just like a professional software which Nokia Care employees are using because it directly connects to Nokia's server. Because of that, Navifirm is able to shows a complete list of all Nokia product codes and firmware images, available for download.

Since the Navifirm binary file is no longer available for download, we will use a modded version of original Navifirm called NaviFirm+ modded by Marco Bellino with better additional improvements.

Download Pre-Installed VirtualBox Image of Android 4 Ice Cream Sandwich and Run it on Intel Windows 7 PC

This post shows where to download VirtualBox pre installed image of Android 4.0.1 Ice cream sandwich and run it onWindows 7 PC. I’m not sure how it is going to help you if you are a heavy Android user, but definitely it will give a new experience by having it on normal PC. Instead of updating your mobile device OS to new version, this method helps to play around with 4.0.1 on computer.
This pre installed image of Android 4.0.1 works well inside VirtualBox to explore new OS without any additional devices. Running a mobile phone (or tablet) operating system in a normal computer by using desktop virtualization software is really cool.
Even though there are few ISO files available to download and do the installation on PC, but I feel it is better to run with pre-installed image. If you are interested to download x86 Android 4 bootable ISO files and start the installation from scratch, you can download them from Android x86 project home here.

Steps to Run Android Ice Cream Pre Installed Image on VirtualBox
1) Download the VDI (image) file here. (The image created and uploaded by an unknown Japanese person. It is not having any virus.)
2) Create a new virtual machine in VirtualBox. Select the OS type ‘Linux’ and version ‘Linux 2.6’.
